This is not about artistic considerations, but the practicalities of putting a font together. On the other hand, the design approach is fine art. Arguably, this is too much cake for 8 eight year old girls to eat…but the birthday girl wasn’t content with one tier!! And as the birthday girl is also my daughter, I couldn’t really argue.

She came up with most of the design (inspired by the Wilton candy cake) – right down to choice of font!! The figures on the top are her and our two chickens, Barbara and Margot (Barbara has gone to the pecking ground in the sky but still gets to be on the cake!!).

The tiers are carrot cake (bottom), the middle tier is rice krispie treats and the top tier is chocolate biscuit cake. Mmmmm. We’re going to save the top tier for her actual birthday, which is tomorrow.

This is a t-shirt design for a team that is running in an upcoming Relay for Life race to support lung cancer awareness. I guess the theme for this race is candy land. (That brought back some happy memories from my childhood) This particular group is from a church and they wanted the graphic to say "Jesus is the sweetest name we know!".

The font used is "Arista". All the other images I drew myself in Illustrator.
